Privacy Policy
FarMoorLocal (“we,” “us”) is a local business directory for the Fargo-Moorhead metro, operated by Apleo LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it — in plain English, because that's how we'd want it explained to us.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a password (stored by our authentication provider, never visible to us in plain text) when you create an account.
- Business information — details you add to a listing you manage: descriptions, hours, photos, contact details, deals, and events. Listings are public by design. Some listing information comes from public sources (including OpenStreetMap) before a business claims it.
- Things you submit — reviews, listing claims (including your role and contact details, used to verify you), correction suggestions, visibility-report requests, and saved favorites.
- Listing analytics— we count views and link clicks on listing pages so business owners can see how their listing performs. These counts are tied to the business, not to you: we don't store who viewed a page, and we don't build visitor profiles. (Your IP address is used briefly to prevent click spam and is not stored with the count.)
- Payment information — if you purchase a Featured listing, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep only your subscription status.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information. Ever.
- We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the site.
- We don't send you marketing email you didn't sign up for. Emails from us are about your account or things you requested.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Service providers
Like most modern websites, we rely on a few providers to run: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and OpenFreeMap (map tiles — loading a map shares your IP address with the tile server, as with any image on the internet). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Sharing with Apleo
FarMoorLocal is operated by Apleo LLC, a Fargo-Moorhead marketing studio. If you request a free visibility report or express interest in Apleo's services, the contact details you provide in that request are used to follow up with you about it. We don't hand your account information to anyone for unrelated marketing.
Your choices
You can edit your listing and profile anytime from your dashboard. To delete your account, remove a review you wrote, or ask what we hold about you, email hello@farmoorlocal.com and we'll take care of it promptly. Business listings themselves are directory content and may remain (with your personal details removed) — if a listing about your business is wrong, use the “suggest a fix” link on the listing.
Children
FarMoorLocal is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
